At Western Production Company, we’re more than a company, we’re a cause.
Chartered in 1979, we’re a Texas company with Texas values. We are energy producers, but we’re also citizens, neighbors and friends. We believe that everyone wins when energy production is done right, and at Western Production Company, we do it right!
We began exploration efforts in places like the Bend Arch region of West Central Texas. In 1986, we shifted gears and began focusing on acquisition and enhancement of existing reserves. Thanks to this change in strategy, ten years later we were able to complete our first non-conventional reserves acquisition-the Avondale Barnett Shale Field in 1997.
These days, our Fort Worth-based team continues to be a major player in the Barnett Shale. Our technical team constantly reviews Barnett development in the core counties of Denton, Tarrant and Johnson as well as the additional early acquisition counties of Parker and Palo Pinto. Our team is also assessing non-conventional opportunities in other continental U.S. regions.
As we look ahead, we will continue to focus on the development of natural gas reserves. And, equally important, we will continue to focus on being a leading member of the Fort Worth business community.
