Our Company

Western Production Company was chartered as a Texas Corporation in 1979. In late 1981 the Company became an operator in Texas and commenced exploration efforts in the Canyon Sand trend of southwestern Eastland County portion of the Bend Arch producing province.

In 1986, after the energy price crash, Paun Peters became President of the Company and steered the company’s efforts toward acquisition and enhancement of existing reserves. This strategy propelled the Company on a positive track culminating in its first non-conventional reserves acquisition (Avondale Barnett field) in 1997.

Realizing this to be a great platform from which to grow the Company, Mr. Peters proceeded to steer the Company toward additional reserves development opportunities in the Barnett play counties of Tarrant and Parker.

The Company’s technical team is constantly reviewing Barnett development in the core counties and in the additional early acquisition county of Palo Pinto. The Company remains a Fort Worth Basin player and continues to regard Fort Worth and Tarrant County as its home base and employs Tarrant County residents as its regular office employees.

The Company remains focused on the development of natural gas reserves versus crude oil as it has since 1988 and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.
